Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten is a wonderful program offered for children not yet ready to enter Kindergarten. Whether a child is chronologically late, or simply due to the uniqueness of individual developmental readiness (social, physical or academic), the gift of a transitional year will better prepare many children for the years ahead.
Many developmental milestones will be reflected through the classroom curriculum. It is our goal to promote enthusiasm for learning. We offer a calm, nurturing environment in which the children can be challenged at their individual levels to develop confidence in the skills needed for future success in school.
The teachers will provide a balance of structure and self-direction. Academic skills will be reinforced through a rich curriculum that incorporates reading, handwriting, mathematics, history and science/health. Weekly specials will include physical education, art, social studies and science. Music and movement will be part of our everyday curriculum.
